How do I get started with you?
New members should fill out a client profile with information like prescriptions, provider preferences, demographics, and notes about specific needs or concerns. This will help me to serve you and recommend coverage to fit your unique situation.
Separate profiles should be created for each individual. Get started here.
Note: Current members should request a link from me to update your client portal. Please do not create a new profile at the link above.
What meeting options are available?
Appointments may be in person or virtual. I prefer in person, however, during the Annual Enrollment Period, in person meetings may be limited. We can also meet by phone or video.
Seminars are often available during the Annual Enrollment Period as well and are a great way to hear about changes to your plan or select a new plan. Seminars and educational meetings can be viewed on the Upcoming Events page.
When can I sign up for coverage or change my plan?
You can sign up for Medicare coverage or change your plan during specific enrollment periods. There are different enrollment periods for those new to Medicare and those who have had Medicare for a while.
If you need to make a change midyear, please contact me to see if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Learn more about Special Enrollment Periods at Special Enrollment Periods | Medicare.
The most common enrollment periods are:
- Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)
- When: 3 months before, during, and after your 65th birthday month.
- What You Can Do: Enroll in Medicare Parts A and B, as well as Part C (Medicare Advantage) and Part D (Prescription Drug Plan)
- Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
- When: October 15 to December 7 each year.
- What You Can Do: Change your Medicare Advantage (Part C) or Prescription Drug (Part D) plans. The changes take effect on January 1 of the following year.
- General Enrollment Period (GEP)
- When: January 1 to March 31 each year.
- What You Can Do: Enroll in Medicare Parts A and B if you missed your Initial Enrollment Period. Coverage starts on July 1.
- Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
- When: Triggered by life events like moving, losing other coverage, or changes in your current plan’s service area.
- What You Can Do: Sign up for Medicare or change your plan outside of the regular enrollment periods without penalties.
What happens if I change plans or coverage with another agent or enroll online?
If you sign up with another Medicare agent or enroll online (unless it is through a customized link I have sent to you), I would no longer be your agent of record. This means I wouldn’t be able to access your plan details, help with claims, or assist with any issues specific to your coverage.
My goal is always to retain members. The relationships we build allow me to understand your unique situation and provide personalized guidance tailored to your needs. However, I’m always happy to help anyone, client or not, with general questions. And if a prior client ever wishes to return, I will gladly welcome them back. My clients’ well-being and satisfaction are my top priorities.
How much do your services cost?
Agents are usually compensated by the insurance companies for each policy, not by the clients they assist. This means you can get expert, local advice, help with enrollment, and continuing personalized service at NO COST TO YOU.
What other services do you offer?
I love educating my community! I often speak for churches, senior communities, health expos, and other events for free. My most popular sessions are Medicare 101 and Veterans Benefits and Medicare.
Educational events involve no sales or marketing. They are informative sessions to help individuals understand enrollment periods, coverage choices and how the health insurance landscape is expected to change in the foreseeable future.
